Canton: Voices of Canton, Inc. Presents “The Union and The Confederacy”

[ October 23, 2011; 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. ] Voices of Canton, Inc. (VOCI), an adult chorus based out of Canton in Northeast Ohio will be performing Richard Bales’ cantata, “The Union and The Confederacy.”  The performance, accompanied by a full orchestra, will be a sesquicentennial commemoration of The War Between the States.

Canton: Re-Enactor, Julia Ward Howe

[ October 13, 2011; 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. ] Join us as Janey Davis portrays Julia Ward Howe who was active in the anti-slavery movements that lead to the Civil War. She is best known today for having written the words to “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

Canton: Speaker: Civil War Speculation

Many of the stories are probably only local legends and folklore, but these types of tales can sometimes point us in the right direction, because many ghost legends have a basis in fact.
