Organizations

Are you ready to take advantage of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War in 2011? The anniversary provides a great opportunity to increase attention of and visitation to your organization, historic sites, events and programs. That’s where the Ohio Historical Society can help! Charged with leading the sesquicentennial commemoration effort, the Ohio Historical Society is supporting local communities by providing assistance in planning, coordination and promotion.

Below are some links to help you navigate the many resources we offer.

AmeriCorps

Ten AmeriCorps volunteers have been placed with partner organizations around the state to directly assist Civil War 150th anniversary commemoration efforts in their area. Each volunteer will collaborate with tourism groups, historical and civic organizations, libraries and schools to make the most of telling Ohio’s story before, during and after the Civil War.
