Ohio Civil War Commemoration Kick-off Brunch
Subject
Ohio Civil War Commemoration
Description
The Ohio Civil War 150 Advisory Committee, the Ohio Historical Society and the Ohio Statehouse organized a brunch on April 10 at the Ohio Statehouse, to kick off the Civil War commemoration. The brunch benefited the Save the Flags campaign, which raises funds to conserve the 388 flags of Ohio Civil War regiments, now in the care of the Ohio Historical Society. Sponsored by Carlile Patchen & Murphy, LLP., Wes Cowan of the PBS series History Detectives was the keynote speaker, and addressed why the story of Ohio’s role in the Civil War is as important today as it was 150 years ago. Guests also got a sneak peak of the Ohio Civil War 150 traveling exhibit, which will make its debut at the brunch.
