Letter from John Silas Caton, 78th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, 12 Oct 1862
He married Rachel Day, mentioned in the letter in 1858, in Muskingum County, Ohio and later moved to Adams County, Nebraska.
He applied for a pension in 1891. I do not know when he died.
The Elizabeth mentioned is my maternal great grandmother. Silas was the son of George Wesley Caton and Mildred Buckley and was born in Fairfax County, Virginia."
