Portrait of George Wythe McCook from Carroll County, Ohio, ca. 1880-1890. During the Civil War he organized Ohio regiments and commanded troops in the field during the summer of 1864. He was a member of the McCook Family known as the "Fighting McCook's" a name referring to the number of family members who served in the Civil War.
