Lewis D. Campbell was a member of the Fusion Party. In 1852 and 1854 Lewis D. Campbell defeated Clement Vallindigham for a seat in the House of Representatives. But, he lost to Vallandigham during the 1856 and 1858 Congressional elections.

General in U.S. Army. Schenck who became involved with Ohio politics in the 1830s. He eventually would defeat Clement Vallandigham in the 1862 Congressional election.
