Though we are members of several re-enacting groups in Ohio we have formed a "mess" of progressive re-enactors. We decided to call ourselves the Darby Creek Boys. You can learn more about us and how we came to our name by visiting our website http://darbycreekboys.webs.com/.

While we're on the topic of "progressive" reenactors, I think it would be great if we would start all messing together at local events, so as to provide the public with more comprehensive living history programs. If we actually had a company at some of the local events, we could push for our own time slot with which to do short infantry/life of the soldier demos, and that would be really cool..not to mention setting up some impressive fixed camp impressions…

Ian-Please drop me a note. The Army of the Ohio has some campaigners involved. We usually put together a mixed company to try to attend one campaigner event per year. We've done McDowell, Bummers, Pickett's Mill and others. I will likely be in command at a couple larger events in Ohio next year as well as a new event at Ohio Village. I would love to work with you guys and if in overall command of events I can do my best to make sure you are accomodated as far as good camps etc. You can reach me at bminton@embarqmail.com
We have our Nov. meeting on the 6th, starting to plan now for 2011.
Regards,
Bob
