The Ohio CW 150 recently received this announcement:
The Pennsylvania tourism office is offering any USCT re-enactment group that has been designated by their Governor's office and/or state tourism office a $3000 travel stipend to assist a minimum of 5-10 USCT re-enactors to represent their state in the Nov 6, 2010 Grand Review parade in Harrisburg. In addition to the travel assistance stipend, they will provide the attendant with exhibit space to promote their state's Civil War and Underground Railroad projects at the Heritage Chautauqua that follows the parade and tickets for the black tie and period ball that evening. Their Governor's office of African American affairs will also assist the group with logistics for lodging and the Convention and Visitors Bureau has set up hosts to provide concierge service to visiting groups.
Pvt. Joe Becton 3rd USCT is their recruiting officer for national units who represent ARC states. You can contact him at jobecton@yahoo.com.
The deadline is April 1, 2010. Since the deadline is so soon, please contact Kristina Kuehling at 614-297-2342 or kkuehling@ohiohistory.org as soon as you can and we will do our best to get everything organized as quickly as possible.
