Washington is jumping in on the sesquicentennial commemoration of the Civil War. National Archives has created a Civil War exhibit with exciting and rarely seen artifacts!

One exciting piece on display is the pension records for a woman who disguised herself as a man and served in the Union Army. The Emancipation Proclamation will also be on display in November but only for a few days.

Ken Burns (remember PBS' "The Civil War"?) will be speaking at the preview of "Discovering the Civil War" today. The exhibit will be open to the public on Friday.
