He is a nationally published history author on Civil War and other time periods, a state and local officer of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, editor of the quarterly, "The National Son" and twice National Secretary to Sons of Spanish-American War Veterans. Mr. O'Bryan is a founder and past officer of Mid States Living History Association, Inc. And has been active in historic preservation in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio.
He is completing a Master of Arts in Public History at Northern Kentucky University. His other degrees completed include: Master of Business Administration, Master of Science (Quantitative Analysis) and Bachelor of Business Administration. He has over twenty-five year of consulting experience, founding the Jeremiah 29 Company, a software and services business focused on government and non-profits. He has worked in broadcasting and earned a third class broadcasting license from the Federal Communications Commission. He has been a Foster Parent and is active in his church, especially the music ministry. His technical and business backgrounds will be an important resource for electronic and computer oriented software and websites as well as video and audio presentations.
Bernard O'Bryan created and performed one act first person shows on General Lew Wallace, General "Stovepipe" Johnson, Colonel Frederick Lister, 31st Ohio Infantry and other historic characters. He assisted on a high level in the planning and organizing of history exhibits and presentations at Stacks Music and Heritage Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio. He personally planned and managed the city of Fort Mitchell centennial and many other heritage events. He has been a member of several historical reenacting groups. He was among those who founded the James A. Ramage Civil War Museum, Fort Thomas Military and Community Museum and other historical sites. He worked for the United States Military to train of Combat Historians for all four military branches. He has been active in historic preservation efforts, especially in greater Cincinnati, Ohio. He is frequently interviewed by the media for historic events and has a theatrical experience, all of which is very helpful in preparing press releases, public speaking, presentation, docent training and interpretation. He is a recognized community leader and has a passion for history.
