What is it?
The Timeline section of this site is built with the Simile Timeline Widget, developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and adapted for WordPress by Tim Isenheim (see plug-in page at WordPress.org).
How Does it Work?
To browse the Timeline, simply hover over the display area and use your mouse scroll wheel to move the display forward or backward in time. Scrolling over the top bar will scroll events by year, while scrolling over the bottom bar will scroll events by decade (which is a bit quicker). To scroll up or down elsewhere on the page, you will need to place your mouse pointer outside of the Timeline display area.
Once you find an event you would like to read about, click on the title. This will prompt a popup bubble with text and images describing the event. By clicking on the title at the top of the popup bubble, you can view the event in a larger easier to read format (recommended for longer entries).
I'm Having a Problem! What's Wrong?
Some users may have issues with the display of the Timeline. Your browser must be up to date and have Javascript enabled (this can usually be accomplished by resetting your browser options to default). You can update your browser to the latest version by running a System Update in Windows or by using the links below:
Or you can always use the link to "View Timeline Events as a Normal List"
