The Plain City Historical Society is sponsoring a program commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Lincoln Funeral Train passing through Pleasant Valley on April 29, 1865. (This was the name of Plain City until 1871.) The commemoration will be held on April 29, 2015 from 8-9 pm at 250 Maple Street, Plain City, OH 43064, the former site of the railroad. The program will include a moment of silence at 8:45 pm (the time the train arrived), followed by an Honor Guard rifle salute and the playing of “Taps.” For more information, contact Rosemary Anderson, Plain City Historical Society, 614.873.4191.
