Columbus will host the annual National Association of Lincoln Presenters convention April 11-14, 2013. As many as 40 Abraham Lincolns will gather in Columbus to tour places like the Ohio Statehouse, Camp Chase Cemetery, General Sherman’s birthplace, and the Mott’s Military Museum. Convention speakers will include General Grant, General Sherman, General Rosecrans, Treasury Secretary Salmon Chase, and Frederick Douglass. A special event will be a presentation of the play Our American Cousin, which was performed on the night Lincoln was assassinated. The Lincolns will also spend an entire afternoon at the Ohio History Center where they will produce two one hour shows for the center’s patrons, followed by a special “Dinner with Lincoln” after the center closes for the day.
