“Hear the Silent Speak – A CW150 Learning Experience” is a Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War free event held in the GAR Civil War Section of Dayton’s Historic Woodland Cemetery on the afternoon of Sunday, October 7. Living historians from Dayton’s SUVCW Sherman Camp 93 “give voice” through presentations to four Civil War veterans plus a “waiting wife.” A replica Civil War recruiting office will display artifacts of soldier life. At 2 pm, a special two-hour guided walking tour will visit graves of Civil War flag officers, regimental commanders, soldiers, staff officers, heroes, and a traitor.
