Details:“Custer, the Civil War General” will be the program for the Custer Celebration at the Custer Monument and later at the Custer Museum and Center. Steve Ball will perform with his 1860 Martin 2-20 guitar. His program will narrate the creation of many of the popular tunes of the Civil War period and includes interesting tales about the people who wrote them.
Next, the Custer Memorial Association’s own General Custer (aka Rick Williams) will be talking of his exploits from his time at West Point into the early years of the Civil War. Also appearing will be the 6th Ohio Volunteer Cavalry, a Civil War mounted reenacting unit.
They will be giving demonstrations on cavalry drills and their equipment in the Custer Park behind the monument.
