The Michael J. Colligan History Project presents Professor Terry A. Barhard, a professor of History at Eastern Illinois University. On the anniversary of the Battle of Ft. Sumter, 1861, discover the “Old Miami” professor who knew Lincoln, was Confederate Assistant Secretary of War, and an architect of the south’s “Lost Cause” ideology. Reception to follow.

To recognize the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War, the Michael J. Colligan History Project invites you to explore this critical period in rebuilding our nation by considering new perspectives on the Civil War experience of Ohio and the border regions.
