Join the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War to commemorate the Battle of Buffington Island. The battle occurred on July 19, 1863 between the Confederate General John Hunt Morgan and the Ohio Militias, U.S. Army and U.S. Navy gunboats. Participating in the battle were three future Presidents of the United States: Rutherford B. Hayes, James Garfield and William McKinley all Ohio natives.
Ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m.
